M 65 and M 66 on March 20th, 2009
The spiral galaxies M 65 and M 66, located in the constellation Leo, belong to the most popular Messier objects. Both galaxies are 30 million light years from Earth. ATIK 314 L CCD camera at the prime focus of a TeleVue Genesis refractor (100/540). Tracking control with ST-4 Autoguider. Composite of four frames processed with Photomatix 3.0 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. The exposure time was 300, 600, 900and 1080 seconds.
